Dr. James Slone
Bible Teacher

Dr. Slone

Indian Springs welcomes Dr. James Slone as our Bible teacher. He was saved when he was 15 years old at youth camp. He remarks that he was a good example of studying catechism, attending revivals and living a good moral life without personally knowing the saving grace of Christ until his own salvation experience at youth camp.

After one year of college, he was appointed as the pastor of a circuit consisting of three Methodist churches in southern Illinois. He graduated from Greenville College, received his Masters of Divinity from Emory University and did post-graduate work at Asbury Theological Seminary. He has continually served as a pastor within the United Methodist Church since his early college years.

God placed excellent influences in his life from the very beginning of his walk with Christ. A number of pastors, evangelists and "saintly praying ladies" took personal interest in him and mentored him in the Gospel, Christian living and maturity.

Dr. Slone's most influential book in his life besides the Bible is Roy Hesson's The Calvary Road. He says that with each passing year, the Scriptures become more and more powerful and precious to him.

Dr. Slone and his wife Cheryl reside in Illinois. Dr. Slone enjoys baseball fishing and reading.
