Children's Ministry (1st – 5th Grades)
Big Smile

The Children’s Ministry meets daily from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm in the Glenn Tabernacle. The Glenn Tabernacle dates from the 1920’s and is rich in Indian Springs history that is often shared with our younger campers. It has been a place where many small hearts have made big commitments.

Spiritual Mission

The primary goal of this program is to bring children to a personal relationship with Christ – even at this early age. Parents appreciate the Children’s Ministry for deepening a child’s understanding of God’s call to holiness and how to surrender his or her life to the Lord at an early age.

Program Highlights

The curriculum of the Children’s Ministry is developed by Dr. Becky Luman, a Christian Education professor from Wesley Biblical Seminary. The pace of this 2½-hour daily program is varied. Through interactive story telling, role-playing, and old-fashioned missionary stories, children learn of God’s love and provision for them in their everyday lives.

The Children’s Ministry isn’t just about words, though. Music is a dynamic part of our program! Creative craft projects and games add interest and relevance to our theme. Frequently, projects such as collecting and bagging toiletries, school supplies and small toys are done for needy children and missionary families.

Arts and crafts time in Glenn TabernacleOften, children make life-long friendships that last from summer to summer. A leader from this program, Beth Luce Reed, states that “As a camp meeting ‘old-timer’, I still see friends from my lifetime of summers at Indian Springs; in fact, now I’m teaching my friends’ children!”

The Children’s Ministry takes place in an open-air tabernacle, near the Main Tabernacle where adults worship. Restrooms are conveniently located, and a wholesome snack is provided during the morning.
