Purpose & Ministries

In 1911 the women of the Indian Springs Holiness Camp Meeting organized the ‘Ladies’ Auxiliary’ as a way to assume some of the responsibility for the camp meeting. That first year, they spent $36.20 on items such as lamp chimneys, pitchers, bowls and maid services. In 1940, this organization received official sanction from the Board of Trustees. Their purpose at that time was to care for the cottages where workers stayed.

Today, the Indian Springs Women’s Fellowship is an inclusive ministry of both hospitality and spirituality. This warm and dynamic fellowship encourages all women on the camp ground to become an active participant in camp meeting and to encourage friendship and fellowship.

Hospitality ministries include everything from hostess responsibilities for our workers, visitors and new cottage owners to providing greenery for the Main Tabernacle. In addition, the Women’s Fellowship sponsors several significant prayer events throughout the year, as well as hostessing the Women’s Luncheon which has become ‘quite the social event’ during camp meeting!

Memorial "Recognition Tree Project"

Memorial Tree ProjectThe Women's Fellowship at Indian Springs announces the establishment of a memorial for our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers and other grand ladies. The memorial will be a 5’ x 4’ commemorative “Bronze Recognition Tree” with engraved “leaves” bearing the names of the women we wish to honor.

The Recognition Tree celebrates all the women who have ministered with their time, service and care, as well as ministered to the families, workers and friends at Indian Springs Holiness Camp Meeting. It will be placed in the Memorial Building.

If you want to honor a loved one, an engraved bronze leaf can be placed on the tree for a gift of $500-$2500. The Memorial will be used for housing, furnishings and landscaping projects.

Details for ordering a “Memorial Leaf” will be available at the time of Camp Meeting.

Ladies’ Luncheon

This social function integrates both hospitality and spiritual ministries of the organization. It is held on the first Monday of camp. This delightful event has evolved from a business meeting and simple refreshments. The attendance has grown steadily each year. Formerly held at the Wesley Biblical Seminary Cottage, the luncheon has become so large that it is held off the grounds in The Village at Indian Springs.

Over 130 women attended the 2007 luncheon held in The Village at Indian Springs. The program is typically the missionary wives who present a woman’s view of their mission field.

2008 Luncheon: Monday, July 14, 2008 – location to be announced
