The ‘Tweens Ministry meets every morning in the ‘Tweens Tabernacle
from 9:30 am – noon. Dr. and Mrs. David Householder who are talented
leaders of middle school ministries direct the program.
‘Tweens are also encouraged to participate in activities at the ‘Tweens Tabernacle during the afternoon (3:00 – 5:00 pm) and after the evening service (until 9:30 pm). Activities at this time are more free form and encourage friendships and personal discussion with adult leaders.
2008 Theme:
“The Alpha-Omega Investigation”
Genesis 1-3 and Revelation 20 -22
Tweens get an overview of God’s plan for us all from an exciting study in both Genesis and Revelation. We’ll begin at the beginning of time when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. We’ll end with the new heaven and the new earth with the possibility of living eternally with God because of what Christ did for us.
Everything we learn in our worship and teaching times and in our small Discovery Groups will prepare us for the most exciting part of any RAD Project:
The Multi-Mega-Giga Game on Thursday, July 17.
Spiritual Mission
The primary goals of this program are to lead children to a personal relationship with Christ and to develop spiritual maturity through discipleship. Our program is called "The RAD Project," with "RAD" standing for "Rising Adolescent Disciples." Its focus is based on three fundamental principles that are easily understood by kids this age: They can pray effectively; they can worship wholeheartedly; and they can study the Bible with insight.

Program Highlights
In the mornings (9:30 am – noon): Scriptural truths are presented
through music, Bible-verse study, puppets, small-group interaction
and the RAD XT (RAD eXternal Team, our world-wide e-mail correspondents
who write
from abroad).
Craft activities reinforce the daily lesson, so frequently posters, banners and diogramas are made. Humorous skits and mimes vary the pace and give everyone an opportunity to participate.
Computer games such as Captain Bible help reinforce the use of Scripture for living. The ‘Tweens Ministry boasts a computer room where kids can research aspects of our Biblical theme or play computer games that reinforce Biblical principles.
Much of the morning’s programs are conducted in small groups; there are frequent “de-briefings” that pull together discoveries after group work. Some groups may be asked to do a project that illustrates a concept from their study.
In the afternoons (3:00 – 5:00 pm): In the afternoon, the ‘Tweens Tabernacle is open for a variety of activities. Activities vary from jewelry making, guitar lessons, puppetry lessons, or watching videos, to reporting to our RAD XT correspondents about what we have done.
On hot days we'll add a water slide. One afternoon is set-aside as the annual "’Tween's Olympics.” Wednesday afternoon is the annual Talent Show.
In the evenings (after the evening service – 9:30 pm): Kids are encouraged to “hang out” at the ‘Tweens Tabernacle just to kick back and talk. This is a great time for our adult workers to get significant personal interaction with them.

Leadership Opportunities for 14 Year Olds
An additional opportunity is provided for 14 year olds who could “graduate” to the Youth Ministry (9th Grades – College), but who chose to remain with our program to work with the "RAD Team." They become our program assistants and help lead the Bible studies and other activities.
