Mat and Iris Luce answered God’s call to become Youth Program Directors of the Indian Springs Youth Ministry in 2010. They faithfully empowered the 10-15 person youth staff to oversee the youth ministry. The Luces “retired” in July 2024 after 14 years of dedicated service. The impact of their leadership and care will be a blessing to staff members and young people for years to come.
Mat an Iris Luce both attended the Indian Springs youth program as teenagers. They committed their lives to Jesus in the Youth Tabernacle. They fell in love with one another while participating in the youth ministry. They were married in the Youth Tabernacle where Mat’s dog, with great dignity, brought their wedding rings down the aisle on a cushion! Soon after they were married, they chose to give their time, talent, and hearts to the work of Indian Springs youth. They always modeled a godly marriage.
Over the years, Mat and Iris have poured their lives into the youth program, mentoring an amazing group of young adults to serve our students. By training and cultivating the annual youth staff, they prepared students’ hearts for the work of Jesus in the dormitories and at the altars of the Youth Tabernacle.
Their role as Youth Program Directors had a year-round task list that Mat and Iris maintained and improved over the years. Great improvements have been made to procedures, online information, registration payments, Facebook, and communication with the Indian Springs youth in the off-season. The Luces will continue their ministry endeavors with Beehive Global Collective. Our camp meeting family is deeply grateful for the impact Mat and Iris have had on a generation of the Indian Springs Staff and youth.
