When Hurricane Irma changed its course over the weekend of September 8-10, 2017, Indian Springs Holiness Campground was in the pathway of the raging storm.
Several families from Rev. Matt Hearn’s church in Pooler, Georgia, sought refuge at the campground earlier in the week when it appeared that Irma would travel an eastern route up the Georgia coast. However, when the storm shifted along the western coast of Florida, the Pooler folks felt they were safer back in the Pooler area (near Savannah) and returned to their homes.
Camp President Steve Luce reported that the campground had some trees down due to the high winds. Two dwellings were damaged but can be repaired. No damage was sustained to any of the campground administrative buildings.
We give God thanks for protecting our campground!
